Watch New Delhi Artist Anisha’s Reassuring Animated Video for ‘Skin’

The gentle folk-pop song is out nearly a year after her previous singles ‘Stand There With You’ and ‘You Don’t Know’

New Delhi pop artist Anisha Uppal aka Anisha AOD sings about embracing the ebb and flow of life’s movements in her folksy new single “Skin.”

The song comes just about a year after her 2019 double-release “Stand There With You” and “You Don’t Know,” which showcased two different sides of Anisha as an emphatic as well as tranquil pop songwriter. For “Skin,” she regrouped with producer Adhiraj Kabir Mustafi for a simpler song of encouragement.

In a note, Anisha says about her inspiration for the track, “I was hiking 15,500 feet above sea level with my friends. You know how large the world really is when you’re up there. And you know how small you suddenly feel… How much smaller tiny things like leaves, twigs and insects feel in comparison. When I wrote ‘Skin,’ I felt like I was a part of a bigger picture. Like I was looking for something, while it was looking for me.”

Written as a joyous song, an animated lyric video by illustrator Nandini brings “Skin” to life with even more intent. “When I got in touch with Nandini, I knew that she was an amazing artist, but I didn’t realize how seamlessly our ideas would come together. Her interpretation of ‘Skin’ is so profound, and you can see clearly that she resonated with the song.”
