We caught up with actors Priyanshu Painyuli, Chandrachoor Rai and Shadab Kamal ahead of the release of Netflix’s comedy-drama Upstarts. The film follows three Bengaluru techies, Kapil (Painyuli), Yash (Rai) and Vinay (Kamal), whose startup aims to be the “Dawaiyon ka Uber” or Uber for medicine. The feel-good movie, which released this month, tackles millennial ambition in India, going beyond the one-size-fits-all notion of success.
We presented Painyuli, Rai and Kamal with (fake) startup company names and asked them to come up with hilarious pitches for these ventures. From recycled jewelry to a fusion food delivery service to a gifting conglomerate, the actors put their best pitches forward, bringing on both laughter and applause.
