Seems like quarter-life crisis hit RaagLeela a bit too hard ”” at least enough for them to sing about the difficulty of making life decisions on their latest single “Jaanu Na.” “It’s about a chaotic state of mind, when you’re not able to express your emotions” explains drummer Vaibhav Ahuja of the Delhi fusion rock band, relating it the members being in their twenties and making crucial decisions.
Shot in Sri Aurobindo Centre [New Delhi] the video shows the six members””vocalist Prateek Narsimha, guitarist Sarthak Joshi, bassist Roshan Roy, percussionist Sarthak Pahwa and drummer Vaibhav Ahuja and keyboardist Sagar Chawla ”“ rocking out to the alt-rock/fusion mashup, with Pahwa joining in for a neat tabla breakdown. “Jaanu Na” also marks Chawla’s last appearance with the band [now replaced by Anil Chawla].
For now, RaagLeela are taking it slow and polishing their sound before hitting the studio to record their debut release. “We want to make sure that the first album we put out blows everybody’s heads off” says Joshi. “We know a lot of bands bring out albums within a year, but that’s one thing we’re very conscious of ”“ we need to let our material mature and have something really nice before we put in our money and put it out there.”
