The singer-songwriter brings nimble jazz and blues to the fourth edition of our music series
After a passionate discussion about the under-representation of women in music by playback singers Sona Mohapatra and Shilpa Rao, producer Sanaya Ardeshir aka Sandunes and singer-songwriter/guitarist Shubhangi Joshi, we were treated to a performance by Joshi. The fourth edition of #RollingWith, held in association with Twitter India witnessed a laidback and relaxed Joshi at her best.
The Mumbai-based singer-songwriter performed a bluesy up-tempo set, opening with the reflective “Ode To The Moon,” and switching into blues for “On My Toes,” which was featured on her 2014 debut EP Talking Away the Night. Joshi closed her short set with “Look At Her, She’ll Never Learn,” a jazzy song Joshi says “Is about a girl who does whatever comes to her mind and she’s unapologetic.”
