The second single from the blues outfit boasts of a solid groove, bang-on vocals and heady wah-wah guitars
If you liked Shillong-based band Blue Tempation’s first single, “Ramblin’ On”, which released two weeks ago, you will dig their second offering, titled “I Got My Own Way.”
Recorded as part of their live project called Live From La View, the song captures the band members in their element. Gregory Ford Nongrum does a fine job of balancing the vocals with rhythm guitars while bassist El Nathan Ford Nongrum and drummer Daryl Diengdoh effortlessly lock their playing to provide a solid groove bed. Blues fans are also sure to like Shepherd Najiar’s riffs and delicately crafted embellishments on guitars. Gregory also whips up an enjoyable solo on the wah-wah pedal on the track.
Says Gregory, “The tune and the main groove of the song took shape around four years ago, when we were jamming. But we only started work on it and finalized the structure in February this year.”
The song’s lyrics talk about finding solutions to your problems within yourself. Gregory says, “People always try to follow the norm when they are in difficulty. ”˜I Got My Own Way’ suggests that we should dig deep side and find our own way to set things right. I hope people will relate to this message.”
Blue Temptation plan to release two more videos from the live session before starting work on an EP towards the end of the year.
