The Welsh reggae metallers walk through Mumbai in the music video for the title track off their upcoming album

When Skindred came down to play at the NH7 Weekender in Pune in October this year, the Welsh reggae metal band landed in Mumbai a few days before their gig. Between hitting the bar and doing a video interview, the band booked Sitara Studio, the studio and gig venue in central Mumbai, to shoot a music video. The video was for “Kill The Power,” the single and title track from their upcoming album, Kill The Power. Directed by Mumbai-based freelance filmmaker and photographer Angshuman Ghosh, the video follows Skindred as they played tourists in the city at beaches, temples and barber shops.
While the live performance of “Kill The Power” had the crowd dancing and moshing at Weekender Pune, the music video follows the band around Mumbai. Vocalist Benji Webbe walks around bylanes and alleyways in central Mumbai before hailing a Premier Padmini that’s driven by live sampler Dan Sturgess, who is surprisingly adept at working a column gear box. Sturgess also handled production and editing of the video.
