Watch Sky and the Summer’s Cutesy Video For ‘Why Do We Wait for Those Who We Really Love’

In 2016, Jaipur-based producer-singer and guitarist Sky and the Summer was recruited as a company secretary. However, after just over two weeks at the job, the artist decided to quit. He says, “I went back to the music scene in Jaipur. I started writing again and started playing my songs in pubs and bars with a bunch of covers.”

A blues lover and admirer of musicians such as Stevie Ray Vaughn, John Mayer and Jimi Hendrix, the guitarist has been honing his skills as a musician since he was 12. During the pandemic, he began experimenting with song ideas and released his debut single, the indie-rock acoustic offering “Free with You.” Now, he’s out with a new single, the dream-pop “Why Do We Wait for Those Who We Really Love.” He says, “I feel happy with this project and the vibes coming with the guitars I have.”

The free-flowing track is built upon a hooky bassline, lush guitars and Sky and the Summer’s breezy vocals. On how the song came together, the artist says, “I was humming some notes and trying to figure out the phrases, and after two or three days I came up with the chorus section.” The vocalist-guitarist recorded the entire track in his bedroom studio.

With a music video – directed by Nomsita MS Haritashya – featuring a young couple enjoying each other’s company already out, another single is coming up from Sky and the Summer as he plots to release an EP later this year.
