Watch: SystemHouse33 Unleash ‘Detestable Idolatry’ at Whisky a Go Go
The Mumbai-based thrash metallers performed at the legendary Los Angeles venue as part of their U.S. tour in May
SystemHouse33 may have only two international tours to their credit so far, but the Mumbai thrash metallers are quickly gaining ground with global audiences–frontman Samron Jude says they had a front row full of American metalheads who sang along with the band during their recent 20-date U.S. tour in May. He adds, “It was amazing–we never expected that kind of a response in America, after the Europe tour [alongside death metallers Six Feet Under]. Not only at the Whisky a Go Go gig, but at many other shows, people in the front were singing along to our songs.”
The four-member band–who released their fifth album Regression in March—toured the U.S. supporting death metallers Dying Fetus as part of [American concert tour] Metal Alliance Tour and also played metal festivals such as Slime Grinding in San Jose and Mother’s Day Metal Fest in Cupertino, California.
The first live video from the tour captures the band performing 2016’s “Detestable Idolatry” to a packed Whisky a Go Go, the iconic Los Angeles venue which has hosted the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Aerosmith and Pantera over 50 years. Says Jude, “It was overwhelming… it was so loud and so much fun on Sunset Strip. Everyone was out partying that night, and the venue was already packed by the time we played.”
