The video clip features both artists in a bright studio space accompanied by a live band
It’s been almost a week since Big Bang’s Taeyang and BTS’ Jimin dropped their collaborative single “Vibe” and they’re keeping up the hype with the release of a special live performance of the track.
The video clip features both artists in a bright studio space accompanied by a live band. Taeyang opens the performance by performing the intro on a keyboard and the other musicians gradually join in. The Big Bang vocalist then introduces Jimin who joins in with the second verse. The duo perform a lighter version of “Vibe,” stepping away from its R&B influences to embrace a more acoustic pop sound.
“Vibe” was co-written by Taeyang and singer-songwriter Vince and co-composed by Taeyang, Vince, Jimin, The Black Label’s Teddy Park, Kush and 24. The original version of the single blends pop and R&B with dashes of funk-influenced guitar to create an upbeat and positive mood.
Taeyang first announced the collaboration with Jimin on January 4th, just a few days after announcing his shift to The Black Label from YG Entertainment. The iconic singer-songwriter and producer is reportedly also working on an upcoming album. Taeyang also recently surprised fans with an appearance on BTS member SUGA’s talk show SuchWiTa to discuss “Vibe,” Big Bang’s legacy, his artistry and plans for more music.
Meanwhile, reports surrounding Jimin working on his first solo album are currently making the rounds. Earlier this week, South Korean news outlet Sports Donga reported that the singer and producer’s solo record is scheduled to be released this February. As of now, BTS’Big Hit Music has neither confirmed nor denied the report but have explained that they are “currently coordinating schedules with regards to BTS Jimin’s solo and will share more details once finalized.”
