The psychological-horror anthology film spans four short movies

Sobhita Dhulipala in ‘Ghost Stories’
Earlier this evening, Netflix India dropped the trailer for the upcoming psychological-horror anthology movie Ghost Stories. Featuring actors Janhvi Kapoor, Sobhita Dhulipala, Surekha Sikri and more, the preview pans over a couple grappling with the ghost of a grandmother, a pregnant woman’s terror, a wendigo-like situation and a patient with skeletons in their closet. At one point, we hear a character offer this explanation for the events: “Woh guzri nahi hain, sirf mar gayi hain (She died but she didn’t pass away.)”
Glimpses of dolls, scarecrows, children (who seem to know better than the adults), fanged monsters and more are offered in the trailer and it doesn’t take long for the characters to dissolve into hysteria as they try to flee their situations.
Comprised of four short films directed by Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee, Anurag Kashyap and Karan Johar, Ghost Stories is all set to be released on January 1st, 2020 at 12 a.m. The directors have previously delivered anthology movies Bombay Talkies (2013) and Lust Stories (2018) which went on to be nominated at the 2019 International Emmy awards.
