Watch: The Weeknd and Daft Punk’s Video for “I Feel It Coming”
The space-themed music video features the singer serenading his lover on an alien planet and the French electronic duo as interplanetary explorers
The Weeknd has released a retro, space-themed video for “I Feel It Coming,” a groovy, disco-based track off his third studio album Starboy.
Directed by Warren Fu and co-starring Japanese model Kiko Mizuhara, the video starts with the Weeknd singing and dancing alone on a barren, rocky planet before Mizuhara appears, bathed in golden light. The Weeknd serenades her and they dance together before a sudden, cataclysmic event turns them both to stone.
French ”˜robot’ duo Daft Punk make an appearance towards the end of the video and seem to be on an interplanetary mission when they discover an ominous light emanating from the ground- possibly the Weeknd who survived after all.
“I Feel It Coming” is the Weeknd’s second collaboration with the French producers following “Starboy” and is heavy with the duo’s signature synth and slow-jam funk. The Weeknd channels his inner Michael Jackson on the track with quivering falsettos and by wearing a military-style jacket in the video.
