R&B star races cars in desert, descends into gritty underworld in searing new clip

The Weeknd drag races in the desert and descends into a gritty underworld in the chaotic and searing new clip for "Party Monster."
The Weeknd embraces his inner Thelma and Louise in the new neon-soaked video for “Party Monster.”
The clip finds the R&B star reuniting with director BRTHR, who brings the same gritty excess and hyper-stylized aesthetic of their previous collaboration, “In the Night.”

The fever dream deepens as the singer encounters a femme fatale played by Zoe Aggeliki, and the pair descend into an eerie underground and drag race across the desert. The warped madness of their encounter finally ends with a clear-cut shot of Aggeliki’s car flying off a cliff while the scene flashes in the Weeknd’s sunglasses.
“Party Monster” boasts contributions from Lana Del Rey and appears on the Weeknd’s latest record, Starboy. The singer will embark on a world tour this February, kicking off a North American leg ”“ that includes a headlining spot at Bonnaroo ”“ April 25th in Vancouver.
