Watch Troye Sivan’s Luminous Animated Video for ‘Bloom’

After two days of teasing new music with brief clips on social media, South African-born Australian singer Troye Sivan finally unveiled “Bloom,” the third single off his yet-to-be titled sophomore LP. The track began trending worldwide almost immediately upon its release earlier this morning.

Created by 3D artist Jason Ebeyer, the lyric video features a glistening, neon-bathed animation of Sivan suspended in mid-air in a foliage-infested warehouse as he croons, “Come on baby play me like a love song/Every time it comes on/I get this sweet desire/(Yeah I bloom) I bloom just for you.”

In terms of sound, Sivan sticks to the late-Eighties electro-pop aesthetic he showed off on his recent single “My My My!” courtesy the return of the snare drum and a thrumming, underlying bass. His vocals are breathy and complemented by wavy synth.

Sivan’s highly anticipated unnamed album will be the follow up to his 2015 debut Blue Neighbourhood and in addition to “Bloom” will feature “My My My!” and “The Good Side,” both of which released January this year.
