The Russian-German producer collaborates with the pop heartthrob on a remix bursting with life.

‘Lost In Japan’ was Shawn Mendes’ second single from his self-titled album, a popular track from a well-crafted pop record that saw Mendes mature as an artist. Back in July, Russian-German producer Zedd shared a captionless clip on twitter, playing the piano over the Hot 100 hit.
Turns out, it was a teaser. Zedd was working on his first official remix since 2016, when he put out his spin on DJ Snake’s ”˜Let Me Love You’: a version that made waves because of how it seems to change style every 30 seconds.
On September 26th, the Lost In Japan remix arrived, accompanied by some gorgeous cover art and a lyric video that turns flying flower petals into serious eye candy. The remix itself is crackling with electricity; a faster track with lush vocal layering, added percussion and banging synth beats on the chorus. It’s now available on streaming services.
