Swedish heavy metal band Wolf confirmed that they will be performing at the upcoming Harley Rock Riders III to be held on November 24th in Bengaluru.

Founder member, vocalist and guitarist Niklas StÃ¥lvind says in an email interview, “I’ve got the impression that India is really opening up for heavy metal in the last years, so we’re very happy to play in the country at this point in time.”

The band has been drawn to Indian classical music since the beginning of their career with StÃ¥lvind even having played the sitar on their track “Electric Raga,” that appeared on their self-titled debut album in 2000. “Fifteen years ago I bought a sitar and wrote “Electric Raga” that ended up on the first Wolf album. It’s not an easy task to master the sitar. I’m looking forward to seeing how the song is received by the country that inspired the song. I guess we have to play this one like a tribute to India,” said StÃ¥lvind.

The band is planning an anthemic set list comprising some of their best-known live songs of all times. They will also debut a brand new track at the gig. “We’ve picked the best live songs from our six albums, the songs where there’s usually a chanting audience singing along, so we expect nothing less from the Indian fans! We have also a song on the set list that we’ve  never played live before. It’s got a haunting melody, with a great sing-along chorus and a horror vibe to it. I think we may just open the set with that,” say StÃ¥lvind.

The day-long, free concert will be held at Clarks Exotica, Bengaluru. Wolf, which is currently on tour in UK and Ireland, released their sixth album Legions Of Bastards in 2011. Besides Wolf, there will be nine Indian bands performing at Harley Rock Riders III. Watch this space for more news soon.
