Hugh Jackman draws his adamantium claws for (possibly) second-to-last time in 'Days of Future Past' sequel

With X-Men: Apocalypse storming into theaters in just over a month, the sequel to X-Men: Days of Future Past has unveiled its latest two-minute preview. The trailer boasts new footage of the mutants at war against mankind and themselves, a riveting shot of destruction peeling the Sydney Opera House like an onion and Oscar Isaac’s god-like supervillain Apocalypse. However, the most scintillating image of the trailer comes in the closing seconds as the bloody claw of Wolverine is seen approaching baddies.
The preview also offers up footage of some of the new cast members playing beloved X-Men in action, including Tye Sheridan’s Cyclops, Kodi Smit-McPhee’s Nightcrawler, Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey and, in a villain role, Alexandra Shipp’s Storm.
The trailer arrived just a day after director Bryan Singer revealed that the bulbous X-Men villain the Blob will also make an appearance in the film. As for Wolverine’s cameo, X-Men: Apocalypse could mark the second-to-last time Hugh Jackman assumes the superhero role as he’s made it clear he’s hanging up the adamantium claws following the release of the next standalone Wolverine movie.
X-Men: Apocalypse is out May 20th.
