Youngjae Keeps It Breezy in ‘Vibin’

The single mark’s the singer-songwriter and producer’s first solo project since his departure from JYP Entertainment

Curating a distinct soundscape as a soloist, GOT7’s Youngjae makes a noteworthy debut with “Vibin.” Serving as the lead track off the singer-songwriter and producer’s first mini-EP COLORS from Ars, “Vibin” is a picturesque dance-pop track powered by house beats.

Written, composed and arranged by Youngjae, the track expresses one’s inability to control their admiration towards another: “Out here, out here/ Right in the middle/ Don’t go go/ To the fall fall/ I will hold on oh oh oh.”

Youngjae keeps the music video breezy with the first half showing the vocalist cruising on a highway amidst deserted terrain. From dusk till dawn, Youngjae makes his way into an abandoned warehouse, decorated with rustic pieces of furniture. Demonstrating his expertise as a seasoned dancer, the latter half of the video focuses on the artist’s grasp over choreography with crisp, freestyle moves, attesting to “Vibin’s” ‘self-produced’ track.

COLORS from Ars marks the vocalist’s first mini EP since his departure from JYP Entertainment. Led by “Vibin,” the seven-track EP contains additional tracks such as “Beautiful,” “Tasty,” “Roses,” “Eternal,” Moonlight” and “Lonely.”

Earlier this year, Youngjae announced his association with Sublime Entertainment and has been an active member in the South Korean Entertainment industry via various mediums. The musician has appeared in the star-studded musical Midnight Sun, Netflix multi-cultural sitcom, So Not Worth It and lent his vocals on several OSTs.
