The Grammy-winning artists behind their album ‘As We Speak’ perform four cities between Jan. 4 and Jan. 11

Veteran artists Zakir Hussain, Béla Fleck, Rakesh Chaurasia and Edgar Meyer will tour India in January 2025 on the back of winning two Grammys at the start of the year for their album As We Speak.
Tabla maestro Zakir Hussain, banjo legend Béla Fleck, double bass artist Edgar Meyer and flautist Rakesh Chaurasia took home the Grammy for Best Global Music Performance with the song “Pashto” and the album As We Speak won Best Contemporary Instrumental Album. Now, they will perform in Bengaluru (Jan. 4), Hyderabad (Jan. 5), Mumbai (Jan. 10) and New Delhi (Jan. 11). Tickets are expected to go live on BookMyShow soon.
A press release hails the As We Speak India Tour as part of a larger “global touring IP” where the celebrated artists bring together their fusion album and more. The Asia Pacific tour is organized and promoted by Mumbai-based companies Perfect Harmony Productions and Panache Media.
In his statement, the globe-trotting tabla legend Hussain says, “Returning to my homeland to perform with such incredible musicians is a dream come true. This concert is a celebration of the universal language of music. It’s an opportunity to explore the common ground between Indian classical and Western jazz, and to create something truly unique and inspiring. Collaborating with Béla Fleck, Edgar Meyer and Rakesh Chaurasia has been a dream come true. Their musical brilliance and open-mindedness have made this project a truly unforgettable experience. I’m excited to share the magic of our music with Indian audiences.”
Fleck adds in his statement, “India is a country rich in musical traditions. I’ve always been fascinated by the complexity and beauty of Indian classical music. Performing in India is a dream come true. I’ve always admired the passion and enthusiasm of Indian audiences.”
Meyer, for his part, adds about coming to India, “I’m excited to explore the connections between Indian classical music and Western jazz. I hope that our performance will inspire new conversations about the universal language of music.”
Flautist veteran Chaurasia adds, “I hope that our music can inspire young musicians and fans to explore the rich traditions of Indian classical music. Collaborating with such talented musicians from different backgrounds is a truly unique experience.”
