The four-day festival in Arunachal Pradesh will include performances by Kolkata rockers The Supersonics, reggae act The Ska Vengers, pop artist Nischay Parekh and more

The first phase of artists performing at the third edition of the Ziro Festival of Music in Arunachal Pradesh has been announced. The festival, which takes place across four days this year in the north eastern Ziro Valley in Arunachal Pradesh, is slated to include over 30 artists. Extended by a day compared to its previous edition, Ziro Festival of Music takes place between September 25th and 28th this year.
While last year’s festival was headlined by American alt/noise rock band Sonic Youth’s guitarist Lee Ranaldo, this year includes several Indian artists from across the country. Electronica artist Your Chin [aka Raxit Tewari, frontman of electro rockers Sky Rabbit] and Manipuri alt rockers Imphal Talkies are set to return to the festival, with big draws including guitarist and poet Jeet Thayil’s new rock band Still Dirty, Delhi ska/reggae act The Ska Vengers, Kolkata rockers The Supersonics, Nagaland folk group the Tetseo Sisters, Delhi electronica act Tankbund and Mumbai electro-swing duo Madboy/Mink. Additional international and local artists are expected to be announced later this month.
Tickets for the festival are available at an early bird discount rate of Rs 2,500 for a four-day pass, with single day passes selling at Rs 1,00o on the Ziro website.
