Amber Mark

This week has seen new releases from the likes of Polo G, Beyoncé, Tate McRae and yet another release from the Weeknd, this time featured on ROSALIA’s latest single. All will likely hit the top of the charts, but as you know, here we’re going to take a look at some of the other new and noteworthy singles just released that in a perfect world, should become the hits of tomorrow.

“Let You” – Iann Dior

After his number one smash feature last year with 24kGoldn on “Mood,” Iann Dorr has slowly but steadily been dropping singles this year including “First Time” with Illenium and “V12” with Lil Uzi Vert. Here, it seems for the first instance since “Holding On,” Dior rides solo and the result has to take him to the top of the charts. With a melodic structure but melancholic lyrics, “Let You” feels like just the perfect single for Top 40 to embrace and they rightfully should find a place for the young talent.

“Softly” – Amber Mark

Another artist who seems to crank out a new single every few weeks is Amber Mark. While “Worth It” has remained one of my favorite songs over the year (likely to chart very high at my year-end countdown next month), she’s here bringing a more Caribbean flavor to her latest single that samples Craig David’s “Rendezvous.” “Softly” is melodic, sensual and perfect for the late-night hours of the club. Really looking forward to her early 2022 album Three Dimensions Deep.

“The Bottom” – Gracie Abrams

Gracie Abrams releases her debut studio album this week and “The Bottom” makes sense as the perfect single to catapult the singer-songwriter from the indie pop world to Top 40. The daughter of Hollywood heavyweight JJ Abrams, the singer perfectly marries the Taylor Swift/Olivia Rodrigo formula with enough genuine personality and true-to-life lyrics that help her chart in her native U.S. as well as the rest of the world.

“MIA” – BERWYN

It will be a true shame if this record doesn’t make its way across the globe as the next great successor to “The Crossroads” by Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. “MIA” honors the folks that are no longer with us but in a 2021 package. Think of it as a grittier version of the 1996 classic with haunting but equally hummable lyrics.

“Never A Good Time” – NOTD, The Band CAMINO

The Swedish duo of NOTD come together with Memphis rock band The Band Camino for this very cool collaboration. “Never A Good Time” works because the two worlds enhance each other and the relatable lyrics about having to let go in a relationship is likely to resonate with both acts’ audiences. A great summer track that works as well right now in fall and as likely through the winter and spring ahead.

On the cusp…here are three more new releases we hope to see go far!

“Here” – Shallou

“Cry Over Me” – Rhys

“Faisal (Envelops Me)” – Fred again…
