Producers Alpha Hex, S!D and Anixto Team Up with Faithroze for Villainous New Song ‘Watch Me Cry’

Hyderabad electronic/trap producer Alpha Hex aka Siddarth Ponangi returns with his first single of the year and he calls “Watch Me Cry” the “anthem of our villain arc.” The song was born out of a demo sent by producer S!D over Discord a couple of years ago, with the artists also bringing in New Delhi-based producer Anixto and San Diego-based artist (and occasional Alpha Hex collaborator) Faithroze aka Carleigh Begin.

Faithroze’s vocals go from a fit of quiet anger to more rager mode, fitting the trajectory of “Watch Me Cry” as it piles on trap and bass elements to a swerving degree. “The song speaks of reaching a point in life where you feel like you have nothing left to lose and gain the strength to start over,” Alpha Hex says of the track. Faithroze adds, “I enjoyed tapping into my inner rage and power and it’s always so easy to give him the vocal performance he needs for his tracks.”

Working with lyricist Lena Luisa to co-write the song, Anixto came on board just as “Watch Me Cry” was nearing completion in a sense. Anixto says it was his first collaboration with other producers and while he wondered if he’d get his own creative space and voice heard, working with Alpha Hex, S!D and Faithroze led to “complementing our abilities to release a perfect version of the track.” Anixto adds, “The final version we arrived at had all of our ideas incorporated really well, especially Carleigh’s vocals which are literally perfect for the lyrics and the instrumental, the range is crazy!”

For his part, S!D says he was happy that even with numerous changes and versions of the song, the “underlying emotion and energy were never lost.” He adds, “The powerful vocals perfectly convey the sentiment we were going for with the song. I genuinely believe this is one of the best songs I have put out.”
