Aswekeepsearching Set for Europe Tour This May

The post-rock band will perform 15 shows, including performances at Belgium’s Dunk! Festival and Pelagic Festival in Germany

After their first international run of shows in Russia in late 2015, Aswekeepsearching began plotting their return to the region. But this time, the post-rock band were doing it without help from their erstwhileFlowers Blossom in the Space. Frontman Uddipan Sarmah says, “When we went there (Russia), we understood what touring actually was.”

In the subsequent years, Aswekeepsearching took on several tours and major festival appearances across India, becoming a bankable name in Indian rock. Sarmah says that for around two years, he became friends with bands like American act Tides of Man and Swedish band Pg.Lost, who have now got Aswekeepsearching on as a support act for a 15-date Europe tour between May 9th and June 3rd. “What helped us is everyone whom we spoke to ”“ booking agents or other bands ”“ they knew our music because we were constantly in touch,” says Sarmah.

The band will also stop by two festivals as part of the tour, which almost exclusively focus on post-rock and post-metal music. Belgium’s Dunk! Festival will host Aswekeepsearching on May 12th in Zottegem, while they’re confirmed to play at Berlin’s Pelagic Festival ”“ started by German metallers The Ocean’s founder Robin Staps, who runs Pelagic Records ”“ on May 18th.

Back home, they’re just about wrapping up their Hibernation tour, following which Sarmah says there will be a break from playing club shows. All that free time, of course, goes towards writing the follow-up to their second album Zia, which released last year. Sarmah says, “We’ve been definitely trying to write in the last six months, but nothing has clicked. This tour will be an inspiration to write new music.”
