It’s been a successful run on the international circuit for Chennai thrash metal band Blind Image. The band that opened for Brit extreme metal band Cradle of Filth in 2011 in Bengaluru, has previously toured Australia in 2011 and also performed at the Global Metal Bash in Dubai earlier this year.

In October, the band will set out on a multi-city tour of South East Asia performing in Thailand and Malaysia. Drummer Srikrishna Natesan, who formed Blind Image in 2006, tells us how the South East Asia tour fell into place. “We met Down Heist when we were in Australia and they motivated us to go on a tour around South East Asia, calling the continent the next big thing for metal music. We have heard that fans in South East Asia are crazy and energetic and we are waiting to experience all that craziness,” says Natesan. The Band will be touring with Malaysian alt metal band Wynken Delirium.

A few line-up changes and two albums later, Blind Image are working on their third album. The band comprises alongside Natesan, Nobel Luke on vocals, Shricharan Chandramouli on guitars, Sivaramakrishnan Ganesan on bass and Ramanan Chandramouli on guitars. Their 2009 concept-heavy album More Than Human was nominated for Best Album and Best Band for Rolling Stone Metal Awards in 2010. “We are working on writing the songs currently and plan to release the album by January 2013,” says Natesan.

Blind Image tour dates:

October 31st Immortal Bar, Bangkok, Thailand

November 2nd, Stopzone Café, Johor, Malaysia

November 3rd, More Studio, Penang, Malaysia

November 4th, Penny Lane, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
