The Mumbai-based singer joins Overhung on stage for their rock ballad, "Waste"
The season finale of the Harley Rock Riders IV is all set to take stage tomorrow. The last leg of the extensive tour will see the three finalists of the Find Your Freedom contest – Filharmonix (Jorhat), Third Eye Destruction (New Delhi) and Grey Shack (Chennai) battling it out for the primo spot to perform at The European Bike Week 2014 in Austria coupled with the Harley ”˜Band of the year’ title. The gig will also feature headlining act Shaa’ir+Func, Chennai alt rockers Junkyard Groove and Mumbai rock band Overhung.
After their brief seven-month hiatus, Overhung are all geared up to get back up on stage with some new material fresh off their yet-to-be-titled upcoming album and their EP Extended 4Play, which released earlier this year. But if writing risque lyrics wasn’t enough, Overhung wanted to shake things up some more by inviting singer Caralisa Monteiro to collaborate with the band on “Waste,” a rock ballad unlike any of their other material. Since Overhung’s guitarist Howard Pereira and Monteiro have previously collaborated on the singer’s alt/pop project, Pereira felt that she would be best suited for this track. The band’s vocalist Sujit Kumar mentioned how Monteiro left the band thoroughly impressed at the jam session. Says Monteiro, “I am in a very contemporary space with my music and this is something I haven’t done before. This is my first foray into the rock space and I think everyone’s going to be quite surprised. If not just that, this is going to be interesting to see how it works.”
Overhung will play a 40”“minute set, which will include tracks such as “Must Drink” and ”Sex Machine.”
Overhung will perform at the Harley Rock Riders Season IV on October 12th at Mehboob Studios. Entry: Free For passes register here'Music has a way of connecting us all, and Tere Bina Na Guzara E is…
