Darshan Raval India Tour: Find Dates, Tickets
Starting December 30th and into the new year, the pop star is also promoting his latest release “Saajan Ve” with a 10-city run of shows
Pop artist Darshan Raval has announced a 10-city India tour starting December 30th.
Hindi pop artist Darshan Raval will bring in the new year with a 10-city tour starting December 30th, heading out on the back of his charming, pop-fusion new song “Saajan Ve.”
Raval – best known for songs like “Ek Tarfa” and “Hawa Banke,” plus the celebratory stomper “Chogada” from the movie Loveyatri in 2018 – kicks off his India tour on home ground in Surat on December 30th, followed by a New Year’s Eve gig in Candolim, Goa. In 2024, Raval resumes the tour in Mumbai on January 13th and in Pune on January 14th. The next leg starts in Kolkata on February 9th, followed by a New Delhi concert on February 10th.
The singer-composer returns to Ahmedabad on February 17th, while March sees the final run of shows as part of the tour, in Indore on March 2nd, in Lucknow on March 9th and closing off in Bengaluru on March 16th. Early bird tickets are currently on sale starting ₹499 for students and ₹899 for a silver section ticket. The packages go all the way up to ₹49,999 for a platinum table right up front to catch the “Mujhe Peene Do” singer.
While “Saajan Ve” – composed and sung by Raval and featuring lyrics by Gurpreet Saini – is the artist’s latest song, his crowning glory this year remains his album Dard. Featuring songs like “Mahiye Jinna Sohna” and “Lo Aayi Barsaat,” there’s also an unplugged version of the former tune that’s made it on to the album and also become a live staple. “We’re very fortunate that the songs did very well, this time we are adding new songs from the album to the setlist,” Raval tells Rolling Stone India.
Due to the love his unplugged set got last time on the road, there’s a “new unplugged set” in store on this upcoming tour. Raval says, “All the songs have a new sound. Whatever they’ve been hearing, we’ve completely changed. I’m very excited for the upcoming tour, where people are going to hear new songs, new arrangements, a new setup.”
Earlier, in a press release for the tour, Raval also spoke about how he’s looking forward to traveling across the country to play live. “There is nothing more satisfying for an artist than having the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience. The energy is electric and it’s something I thoroughly enjoy,” he says.
Raval might be bringing in the new year with big shows, but he also looks back at 2023 with core memories. The artist says his favorite gig of the year has been his debut show in Dhaka, Bangladesh in September this year. He adds, “Right after 2014 when I did the reality show [India’s Raw Star], a lot of people have asked me to come to Bangladesh and I’ve always said that I’ll come soon. Finally, I got this opportunity to go to Bangladesh after nine years. The kind of love that I got from Bangladesh was so beautiful. It has a special place in my heart. Wherever I perform, every place has a different charm, but Bangladesh is at the top this year.”
