Delhi’s Newest Live Venue Gutted In Diwali Fire Cracker Incident
No Diwali joy for Delhi indie venue Out Of The Box.
This just in: Out Of The Box at Hauz Khas, Delhi’s newest live venue, was the scene of a disastrous fire reportedly caused by fire crackers on Diwali night.
The three-story Hauz Khas venue, barely two months old, was one of the city’s most exciting melting pots for the bubbling independent music scene. Over the last two months, Out Of The Box has played host to acts like The Ska Vengers, Bay Beat Collective (BBC), BassFoundation, Peter Cat Recording Company, Menwhopause, Arjun Vagale (Jalebee Cartel), Midival Punditz and B.R.E.E.D.
Though the unfortunate incident has meant the venue has had to down shutters and cancel all events for the foreseeable future, no one was hurt owing to the fact that the club was shut for the Diwali holiday.
The club’s promoters issued a statement stating they have every intention of reopening the venue as soon as possible.
