Entries Open: Radio City Freedom Awards 2016
The third edition of RCFA will take place in February in Mumbai
The annual Radio City Freedom Awards are now inviting entries for all music in any language from Indian artists all over the globe, through eleven categories. Â This is the third edition of the awards that felicitate music talent across language, regions and genre.
“Radio City Freedom Awards aims to celebrate the essence of independent music and provide a platform to promote ”˜alternate’ music in the country” says Abraham Thomas, CEO Radio City 91.1 FM.
The judges panel for this year consists of singer, keyboardist and producer Luke Kenny, Saregama Vice President Atul Churamani, record label EarthSync co-founder Yotam Agam, singer/composer Nandini Srikar and rock act Parikrama’s keyboardist and music manager Subir Malik.
Besides awarding prizes and hosting indie performances, the finale will also hold a special segment ”˜Music and Beyond,’ showcasing and encouraging spoken word poetry. “The awards will reach out to the indie community & not only honour music but go beyond to the spoken words & other genres” says Roshan Abbas, Managing Director, Encompass.
