Global pop star Demi Lovato will make her India debut in Mumbai later this month, as part of the Global Citizen Festival in Mumbai. The singer confirmed the news on her Instagram account earlier today. The voice behind chart-topping hits such as “Skyscraper,” “Confident” and Disney movie Frozen’s most memorable song, “Let It Go.” Her India performance may come as her last appearance as a musician – as the singer announced last month that she was taking a hiatus from music in 2017.

Dispelling more rumors that cropped up last week, Global Citizen Festival’s debut India edition has announced Lovato as an additional international headliner to join UK rockers Coldplay and American rapper Jay Z.

Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans said in a statement, “Gender equality is a central pillar in our fight to end extreme poverty. We are thrilled to announce three powerful advocates for this issue – Demi Lovato, Freida Pinto, Vivek Oberoi and Vidya Balan – joining the all-star lineup of the Global Citizen India Festival. Half a million young Indians have taken over 1.7 million actions in support of our campaigns, it is exhilarating to see that the youth of India won’t wait for change.”

Slated to take place at MMRDA Grounds in Mumbai on November 19th, Global Citizen Festival India will also include performances by Bollywood actor-singer Farhan Akhtar, composers A.R. Rahman, Arijit Singh, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and appearances by actors such as Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and more. Tickets, although sold in a limited number, are largely being given away for free via actions taken via social media and activism.
