Tejas – “As I’m Getting Older”

After releasing his stellar sophomore full-length album Outlast last year, Mumbai singer-songwriter Tejas is now back with a refreshing new single entitled “As I’m Getting Older.” The track – set to be part of a forthcoming EP – retains the artist’s infectious melodies, indulgent production as well as strong lyricism. According to a press note, the new song “asks what’s next for the songwriter who has been a performing artist for more than a decade.”

THE MVMNT – Chaand Paar

Hip-hop collective THE MVMNT – comprising seasoned producer Sez on the Beat as well as rappers Yungsta, DAKAIT, Aniket Raturi and Lit Happu – recently dropped a sizzling new eight-track album called Chaand Paar. The record features Sez’s distinct production touch and fiery verses from all the artists. There’s even an appearance from Mumbai-based rapper MC Altaf and singer-songwriter Anumita Nadesan on the record. In a statement, Sez said, “Chaand Paar is our step towards cementing our legacy, a debut project where everyone merged comfort zone with experimentation in order to explore a sound that’s beyond regular for all of us.”

Srijit Bhowmick – “Lifafon Mein”

Mumbai-based singer-songwriter Srijit Bhowmick’s newest offering comes in the shape of the buoyant “Lifafon Mein.” The track includes distorted and juicy guitar lines, an upbeat and peppy groove, Bhowmick’s unique vocals and more. In a statement, the artist said, “[The song is] filled with romance inside out, it is about newfound love, the sweet longing and all the silly butterflies associated with it.”

Kashmira – “Canvas”

Pune-based singer-songwriter Kashmira is back with new music after releasing two singles last year. Her latest song is the acoustic rock number “Canvas.” The track showcases the musician’s elegant vocals, her slick songwriting and more. In a statement, she said, “’Canvas’ is about propagating the idea of starting with a clean slate.”

Saisha Hayes – “Papa Ka Paisa”

Mumbai-bred artist Saisha Hayes’ most recent body of work is the new wave pop track “Papa Ka Paisa.” Through the track, we hear the singer deliver whisper-like vocals as the song rests on quaint production work. In a statement, Hayes said, “Papa Ka Paisa highlights how relationships can become transactional and romance can be commodified in unstable dynamics. Where the labels between love and ownership get blurred in the process.” The song is also accompanied by a music video that reflects the “sonic nostalgia present in the song.”
