Raghav Meattle – “Am I Overthinking This?”
Mumbai-based singer-songwriter Raghav Meattle’s latest offering is a delicate track called “Am I Overthinking This?” It features quaint acoustic guitar parts, melodic whistling, Meattle’s tender voice and poignant lyrics. The artist said in a statement, “‘Am I Overthinking This?’ is a song I wrote about my mental health a few years ago and the loneliness that comes with being an artist. I had a bunch of lines written down and recently converted those lines into a song. Glad to be out of depression and put it out into the world.” The song also marks Meattle’s debut as a producer.
Mister Miyagi – “Would You Dance With Me?”
Mumbai guitarist-bassist and vocalist Jeremy Samson aka Mister Miyagi’s newest drop comes in the form of the disco-leaning “Would You Dance With Me?” The musician worked with keyboardist-producer Brent Tauro (of erstwhile pop-rockers Strike Three) on the track that includes plenty of synths, lush acoustic guitar strumming, retro soundscapes and his infectious vocals. In a statement, the artist said, “The song evokes the same energy as a coming-of-age movie, wherein the protagonist dances the night away with their high-school crush.”
The Anirudh Varma Collective – Homecoming
New Delhi pianist, composer and producer Anirudh Varma’s outfit, The Anirudh Varma Collective, recently released their 10-track sophomore album, Homecoming. The record juxtaposes Indian classical music, jazz, R&B as well as fusion and world music quite impressively. With over 150 artists performing on the record, Varma said in a statement that the music “aims to bring artists and musicians of diverse musical and cultural backgrounds together to form a unique contemporary identity of Indian classical music for audiences of all age groups.”
