Ali Saffudin – Wolivo
Srinagar-based singer-songwriter Ali Saffudin delivers a riff-heavy punchy 10-track debut rock album Wolivo. The record houses plenty of distorted guitar parts, pulsating drums, slick grooves, Saffudin’s scorching vocals and more. A press statement said, “This album encapsulates an angry Kashmiri voicing his truth, depicting experiences of anger, dissent, spirituality, and reformation that showcase the volatility of living in Kashmir.”
SID – “Stuck In The Rain”
Toronto-based R&B/pop artist Siddhant Raman aka SID sings about unrequited love on his latest moody single “Stuck In The Rain.” The track includes poignant production, melancholic vocals, delicate acoustic guitar plucking and an overall plaintive feel. In a statement, the artist said, “It’s a very personal song and is about wanting that someone back, who has now left the relationship. The verses highlight the feelings within the relationship, with a reminiscent undertone while the chorus features soaring vocals about missing the ones who have gone. I believe this is quite a relatable track and both lyrically and sonically featuring a ballad-like instrumental.”
