The singer-songwriter will embark on a massive run of shows across the country, after visiting the EU and UK
Mark your calendars if you’re a fan of Prateek Kuhad. The indie biggie has revealed the details for the India leg of his The Way That Lovers Do tour, after announcing the UK and EU dates for shows that promote the album of the same name. It led to an expected flurry of excitement, with his legions of admirers flooding the comments page on Instagram with posts like “Can’t wait!!!” The tour is slated to be the artist’s biggest one across a nation where every corner seems to have a Prateek Kuhad fan.
It starts off in Mumbai on October 29th before he zigzags like a pinball across the Indian map to stops that include Pune, Chennai, Hyderbad, Chandigarh, Delhi, Surat, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Guwahati, Kolkata, Indore, Bengaluru and Goa before the year comes to an end. That’s an exhaustive list of places, and Kuhad will be playing in some cities – such as Guwahati – for the first time. But before that, he will fulfill his commitments in the UK and EU at spots like Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, Glasgow, Birmingham and London among others. Simply put, there’s a lot for Kuhad to pack in, and by that we also mean quite literally into his suitcase.
The album itself sees the artist stick to what he knows best, and to its name: The Way That Lovers Do contains songs that are clearly designed to tug at the heartstrings. Sonically, the tracks reflect the state of mind of a person who’s on the rollercoaster ride that falling in love usually entails. But this love is not necessarily meant for a romantic partner. It can also be about platonic friends you have lost and gained, as evidenced in “Favorite Peeps.” But by and large, the focus remains on the myriad emotions you feel with a significant other, the ups and downs, the chills and thrills, and the calm that follows any turbulence in the air.
There is no calm among his fans about Kuhad’s India leg of the tour, though, the tickets for which are now live on bookmyshow.com. Attend it in a convenient city if the singer melts your heart too, or even if you are generally looking for some answers to these eternal questions: What does falling in love really mean? And how the hell do you make sense of all the damn emotions?
