Hear Alicia Keys’ Latin-Infused New Song ‘In Common’
Track will appear on her first album in four years set for release later this year
Alicia Keys has debuted the hypnotic, catchy single “In Common,” her first new track since last July’s “28 Thousand Days.”
Marked by clipped phrasing over a minimal beat, Keys’ new single has a tropical, Latin-fusion vibe. The song ”” co-written by Keys, Illangelo, Tayla Parks and Billy Walsh and produced by Illangelo ”” has the singer delivering the lines, “If you could love somebody like me, you must be messed up too” during the track’s chorus.
Billboard confirms that her sixth LP and follow-up to 2012’s Girl on Fire will be released later this year, thought the singer has yet to reveal details of the project. Since Girl on Fire, Keys has intermittently released singles, including a collaboration with Kendrick Lamar for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 soundtrack. She also gave birth to her second child with Swizz Beatz in 2014. Their eldest son, five-year-old Egypt, has a production credit on Lamar’s 2016 release Untitled Unmastered.
Keys will appear on Saturday Night Live this Saturday with host Brie Larson.
