Hear Ed Sheeran’s Tender New Song ‘How Would You Feel (Paean)’

Singer releases romantic tune in conjunction with his 26th birthday

Ed Sheeran has unveiled another new song from his forthcoming album, Divide (stylized as ÷). The singer released the tender “How Would You Feel (Paean)” on Friday, which doubled as his 26th birthday.

Earlier in the week, Sheeran began teasing the release of a new song by week’s end and on Wednesday, he revealed the tune’s title on social media. “‘How Would You Feel (Paean)’ comes out tomorrow at midnight wherever you are in the world,” he wrote. “It’s not the next single, but is one of my favzzzzz.”

As the title suggests, the romantic song is an ode to both love and a lover, with Sheeran crooning, “How would you feel/If I told you I loved you?/it’s just something that I want to do/Taking my time/Spending my life falling deeper in love with you.”

The song follows the release of Divide‘s first two singles, “Shape of You” and “Castle on the Hill,” which he performed last weekend on Saturday Night Live. His SNL appearance preceded Sunday’s striking performance of his Number One hit “Shape of You” at the Grammys. Both songs debuted in the Top 10 of the Billboard 100, marking the first time an artist has debuted two singles in the Top 10 simultaneously.

Sheeran’s upcoming third LP, Divide, will be released on March 3rd via Atlantic Records.
