While a lot of people made it to Shillong to catch California rock band Hoobastank when they played in June this year, they’re making a quick return to the country this month for IIT Delhi’s annual cultural festival Rendezvous. The band has also added another gig in Bengaluru, headlining the ninth annual edition of the Great Indian Octoberfest on October 20th.

IIT Delhi has previously hosted British metal band Malefice in 2009, Dutch prog metallers Textures in 2010 and British alternative metal band Cypher16 last year. Says Ayush Jindal, core team member of Rendezvous, “For almost a year now, we have been spending every minute of our time trying to give the world more reason to have a blast at Rendezvous’13. Hoobastank was the perfect reason to not miss Rendezvous at any cost.” Hoobastank plays in Delhi to promote their discography, including best-known songs such as “The Reason,” “Crawling in the Dark” and “If I Were You” and their 2012 album, Fight or Flight.

Hoobastank is now part of several other international acts playing at IIT festivals across the country, including British metalcore band Architects, who are confirmed to play at IIT Madras’s Saarang festival in January next year, and progressive rock act Neal Morse Band, who play at IIT Bombay’s Mood Indigo festival in December with former Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy.

Hoobastank plays at IIT Delhi Rendezvous 2013 at Open Air Theatre, IIT Delhi on October 18th.  Register for entry to the gig here. Passes will also be available on campus at IIT Delhi.

Watch Hoobastank perform a medley of their songs in Shillong in June this year.
