Pune/Siliguri metal act Kill The King offer their take on tainted morals in the world today with the socially-conscious new song “Money Talks,” part of their upcoming self-titled debut album.

Releasing on November 3rd, the nine-track album Kill The King now has three tracks out so far—after “In the Name of Culture” and “Regicide” were released over the last two years. The album encompasses their intent to “stand up against any form of injustice or oppression.”

Comprising guitarists Rishikesh Dharap and Aditya Swaminathan, vocalist Pritam Adhikary, drummer Rahul Singh and bassist Saurabh Lodha, Kill The King serve up riff-centric, gnarly metal with “Money Talks,” one that moves in and out of pure heavy metal intent. The music video is directed by Habeel Bakshi, interspersing troubling, ripped-from-primetime news footage of conflicts with the band performing the song. The band says in a statement about the song, “[It] delves into the theme of an unending cycle of societal injustices, where a broken system disproportionately benefits the wealthy and powerful.”

Keeping in line with the bleak, condemning and critical tone of their previous songs, Kill The King say they reflect a world where “transparency is elusive and the common masses are left unaware of the true beneficiaries.” The band’s statement adds, “The repeated refrain of ‘Cuz money talks’ serves as a powerful reminder of the pervasive impact of wealth on every aspect of society.”

Kill The King take aim at several societal ills across the album, with songs like “Hate Advocacy,” “No Country for Women” and “Dystopian Reign.”
