MC Stan Previews New Album ‘Mehfeel’ with Single ‘Meri Zindagi Rap Se Pan Deep Hai’

The Pune rap artist sticks to his distinct style that’s aggro and emo in turns, with a saxophone-led beat

MC Stan has announced his new album Mehfeel along with his lead single “Meri Zindagi Rap Se Pan Deep Hai,” which is written, composed and produced by the Pune artist.

The new album Mehfeel will be the first since the release of Insaan in 2022. Since then, Stan has notably gone on to become a household name of sorts after winning the reality show Bigg Boss Season 16. In a nod to the show’s host, superstar actor Salman Khan, “Meri Zindagi Rap Se Pan Deep Hai” opens with a sample of Khan shouting “I love you all!” from the song “O O Jaane Jaana,” composed by Jatin-Lalit and sung by Kamaal Khan for 1998’s Bollywood film Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya.

The rest of the song relies heavily on the song, which is Stan’s way of crafting an earworm, complete with saxophone-infused production elements. MC Stan had previously teased an album announcement in December,

The 24-year-old’s new album also comes on the back of releasing songs like “Haath Varthi” with Indian-origin American producer KSHMR on the latter’s album Karam in 2023, performing a headline set at Bacardi NH7 Weekender in Pune in December and teaming up with Ikka on “Urvashi.” While he also rapped on the Sachin-Jigar composed title track to the movie Farrey and released a single called “Nusta Paisa,” Stan’s “Meri Zindagi Rap Se Pan Deep Hai” and Mehfeel marks the first release of 2024. No release date for the new album has been announced yet.

He took to Instagram to tell his fans that the project means that he’s “beginning a new chapter of my life.” Stan thanked fans for their patience and love in awaiting new material, but also highlighted that this didn’t mean he had forgotten the styles he’d championed. “Old Stan naya sab ayega, sab karege apun inshallah, tension mat lo tum. Old Stan nava Stan sab mai hi hoon. (Old material and new material from Stan will come out, I’ll do it all, god willing, you guys don’t get tense. The old Stan and the new Stan, it’s all me)”

Up next, MC Stan is also performing on March 7th in Thane at a stadium ahead of a cricket match as part of the Indian Street Premier League tournament.
