Ozzy Osbourne Recovering at Home After Hospitalization
Sharon Osbourne says rocker is “out of ICU,” “breathing on his own” following flu scare
Ozzy Osbourne is in good health and recovering at home after being released from a Los Angeles hospital, Sharon Osbourne said on The Talk Tuesday.
Last month, Osbourne was forced to postpone the U.K. and European leg of his No More Tours 2 Tour trek after he came down with the flu. The musician was then diagnosed with an upper-respiratory infection that could’ve developed into pneumonia.
On The Talk, Sharon Osbourne said Ozzy was “out of ICU” and “breathing on his own.” She continued, “He’s doing good, he really is. And I just want to say a huge thank you to everybody that has reached out with good wishes. He’s overcome by the response that he’s had and it just makes him, it’s kind of bittersweet because he’s so overwhelmed with it but he’s sad, too.”
Osbourne is expected to reschedule his European tour for later this fall. In a statement, he urged fans to hold on to their tickets as they would be honored at the new dates, though refunds were also made available. The cancellation came just months after Osbourne was forced to postpone a number of U.S. shows after contracting a staph infection last October.
Osbourne is set to resume touring in March with a handful of dates in Australia, New Zealand and Japan. He’ll kick off his next North American run May 29th at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
