Having spent more than three decades in North America, Indian classical music group the Partap Brothers returned to India earlier this year after nearly 20 years. That return was part of the group’s tour wherein the Partap Brothers — consisting of Davinder, Mohinder and Ravinder Partap – performed in Amritsar, Chandigarh, Patiala and New Delhi.

After a highly successful tour, the patriotic Sikh ambassadors have now announced that in their bid to keep Indian classical music relevant, they will be publishing a biographical book. The book is set to share with readers a closer insight into the lives of the Partap Brothers, their early years, arriving in the U.S., the hardships to preserve Indian classical music, life experiences and more.

There’s also a documentary in the works that will focus on the Partap Brothers’ journey and their contribution to Indian classical music. The book and the documentary are both slated to be released in 2024.

Davinder said in a statement, “We are overjoyed to be able to share our tale with the world through the book and documentary.” He added, “We hope that our music and our trip will encourage future generations to value and find spiritual peace in Indian classical music.”

With new music on the way as well as rereleases, there is no slowing down the Partap Brothers. The group’s fresh material will include a mix of classic and contemporary pieces, demonstrating their ability to adapt to changing times while sticking to their roots.
