Last week, Mahindra Open Drive returned to music festival calendars on February 26th with a day-long lineup, alongside the vibe-setting additions like mural painting, a “sustainability bazaar,” kayaking, mural painting and even pottery.
Started in 2019 as a two-day edition, Mahindra Open Drive too scaled down like most live events but they more than made up for it with a solid lineup of indie crowd-pullers. The single-day edition of Mahindra Open Drive brought together playback singer and pop artist Benny Dayal & Funktuation ft. The Hornflakes, indie/folk act When Chai Met Toast, psychedelic/alternative act Peter Cat Recording Co., a cappella group Voctronica, singer-songwriter Kamakshi Khanna and singer-songwriter Raghav Meattle.
Hosted by VJ Zerxes Wadia, the festival was set up at Camp Max in Kalote Mokashi outside of Mumbai city. The verdant surroundings provided a cozy backdrop for soothing indie tunes kicked off by Khanna and by nightfall, the volume was pumped up thanks to the likes of Benny Dayal and Peter Cat Recording Co.
