The Australian instrumental rock artist, who released his latest EP ‘Sunhead’ last year, will perform new material in four cities
Almost exactly a year after making his India debut in February 2018, Australian guitar whiz Plini is scheduled to stop by four cities next month, as part of the Sunhead India Tour between March 6th and 10th.
The Sydney-based guitarist and composer ”“ whose India tour is part of a bigger run of Asia shows which brings him in from Bangkok ”“ released his fifth EP Sunhead in July last year. It was just a few months after his first tour in India, alongside Serbian guitarist David Maxim Micic. In addition to performing at Vh1 Supersonic in Pune, there were shows and guitar clinics in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and New Delhi, courtesy of event and artist company BlueTree. Plini recalls his previous India visit and says, “Amazing crowds, amazing food and people. Some of the most exciting and fun shows we’ve ever played!”
This time around, there’s performances in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad and New Delhi, which Plini promises will be longer sets. He adds, “We’re playing the whole new Sunhead EP, and we’ve played almost 100 shows since our first tour in India, so the older songs have gone through lots of changes too.” Plini will be supported by Kolkata experimental metallers What Escapes Me in Bengaluru and Mumbai, and New Delhi instrumental rock band Submarine In Space in the capital. Following his India shows, Plini and his band head out for a month-long tour through North America.
