Radio City Freedom Awards 2019: The Complete Winners List

The sixth edition of the independent music awards honored the best in indie music, and saw performances by electro-pop artist Monica Dogra and rapper Emiway Bantai

Yesterday, the Radio City Freedom Awards (RCFA) returned for what was its sixth edition to honor the best in Indian indie. The award show ”“ that recognizes independent artists ”“ was hosted by VJ Ramona Arena and held at Mumbai-based venue Glocal Junction.

The awards honored the best talent on the indie circuit, from Mumbai alternative band Calico taking home the prize for Best Young Indie Artist to Visakhapatnam metal outfit Against Evil winning the Jury’s and People’s Choice Award for Best Metal Artist.

RCFA also bestowed non music awards, with the Best Video going to New Delhi singer-songwriter Prateek Kuhad for his track “Cold/Mess” and Best Album Art to Mumbai prog/fusion band Paradigm Shift while singer-songwriter/composer Ankur Tewari bagged the Skoda Indie-Genius: Person of the Year Award for his work on the soundtrack for the film Gully Boy.

The evening also witnessed performances by artists such as electro-pop singer Monica Dogra, rapper Emiway Bantai, Bengali folk fusion band Antarman and DJ Pash.
