Devoted to empowering creative entrepreneurs, Rolling Stone India and digital music distributor TuneCore India joins forces for the second season of Emerge — an editorial series focused on building a launchpad for regional, independent artists to showcase their artistic hues.

From Malayali musician and singer Arya Dhayal, Andra Pradesh’s Damini Bhatla to Kannada rapper Gubbi and Tamil singer Sharanya Srinivas, the latest season will give the audience a peek into the creative processes of each artist, their inspiration and more.

The previous season profiled six breakout artists from across India: Oriya rapper Big Deal, Hindi/Gujarati lyricist Priya Saraiya, Assamese singer Antara Nandy, Bengali artist Rupam Islam, Punjabi musician Gurnazar and Haryanvi artist Vishvajeet Choudhary. This season, however, will focus on the independent artistic voices hailing from various regions in Southern India.

“This is a year of renaissance for regional artists!” comments Rolling Stone India’s Executive Editor & Digital Director Nirmika Singh. She continues, “We are witnessing diversity, excellence and volume in creative endeavors like never before. Rolling Stone India is proud to partner with TuneCore India on this initiative to amplify the music by a wonderful cohort representing the South. We want to tell their stories, spotlight their music and bring them the wide audiences they deserve.”

Heena Kriplani, Head of TuneCore, South Asia breaks down the ethos that drives TuneCore, “TuneCore is about servicing the independent artist no matter where they’re from or the language they create in,” she explains. “We’re happy to partner with Rolling Stone India on ‘Emerge with TuneCore’ to showcase and highlight the journey of South Indian artists like Sharanya Srinivas, Damini Bhatla, Arya Dhayal and Gubbi. These artists have shown true grit, determination and consistency, and we’re eager to welcome regional artists like them into the TuneCore family to help them reach new audiences across the world.”
