RS Stage Goes Acoustic This Weekend
The second set of gigs will feature Mumbai singer-songwriters including Vernon Noronha and Alisha Pais

After packing a punk and alt rock lineup last weekend with bands like Punk on Toast and Treble Bite, RS Stage is now turning to the city’s upcoming singer-songwriters for its next showcase. Some folksy blues and indie music is bound to set the mood right for the long weekend at R City. The upcoming RS Stage weekend will feature artists like Mumbai-based singer-songwriter Vernon Noronha, who sounds like he has been influenced by young pop artists such as American guitarist John Mayer and vocalist Jason Mraz. Says Noronha, “I started in school by participating in competitions and I’m a huge fan of Jason Mraz, not just his popular stuff”¦ He has some intricate music too. I really like Blackstratblues too. He (Warren Mendonsa) is an honest and genuine guy.” Noronha has performed across venues and festivals in the country and has been featured on Balcony TV, as well as the gig series Live from the Console in Mumbai. Noronha will be singing songs from his upcoming EP Closer To Home this Saturday, which is slated to release in October. Along with Noronha, Hindi acoustic rock group Agazo will be performing for the second time on RS Stage.
The second day will feature the Mumbai singer-songwriter Alisha Pais, who also performs with her all-girl folk rock band, Pais & The Petticoats. Pais’s mellow music will carry forward the laidback vibe of the second edition RS Stage. Pais will be followed by Mumbai-based Hindi rock band Kashmeer.
RS Stage will take place at R city mall in Ghatkopar, Mumbai on May 2nd and May 3rd at 7 PM and will feature artists like Alisha Pais, Vernon Noronha, Agazo and Kashmeer. Event details here.
