After a few jinxed attempts, guitarist Slash is finally making his way to India for two shows as part of rock and adventure sports festival MTV Indies Xtreme in November. The former Guns ”˜N Roses guitarist, who started releasing solo material in 2010 and later teamed up with vocalist Myles Kennedy [from alt metal band Alter Bridge], will make his India debut in Mumbai on November 7th, followed by a second show in Bengaluru on November 14th.

Saul Hudson, the man behind some of the best guitar work on songs such as “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and ranked number 65 on Rolling Stone’s The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time in 2011, and part of hard rock supergroup Velvet Revolver, will travel to India along with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. The band also comprises bassist Todd Kerns, drummer Brent Fitz and guitarist Frank Sidoris, who all worked on Slash’s third solo album, World on Fire, which released in 2014. Slash said in a statement about playing at MTV Indies Xtreme 2015, “I’m really looking forward to taking our World On Fire tour to India for the first time ever at MTV Indies Xtreme.” Slash was originally slated to perform way back in February 2013, with shows scheduled in Chandigarh, Mumbai and Bengaluru. The show was indefinitely postponed owing to logistical reasons.

Conceived by Live Viacom18 last year in Delhi NCR, MTV Xtreme kicked off in February last year, originally slated to be headlined by American rock band Stone Temple Pilots ft Chester Bennington, who were later replaced by thrash metal veterans Megadeth. Says senior Vice President and Business Head of Live Viacom18 Jaideep Singh, “With our philosophy being to provide life changing high decibel experiences, we have now created a captivating experience that will be a sensory blast for all rock music and sport enthusiasts. First year with Megadeth and now with the debut tour of all time rock legend- Slash, MTV Indies Xtreme enter in to a new phase and it will only going get bigger from here on.” While this year’s edition comes more than a year after the inaugural one, it has proved to be worth the wait, with tickets going on sale on September 25th.

Slash ft Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators will perform in Mumbai on November 7th, 2015 and in Bengaluru on November 14th, 2015. Venues TBC. Entry: Rs 1,000 [early bird general admission] and Rs 1,800 [early bird VIP]. Buy tickets here.
