Watch Justin Bieber Get Egged in Comedy Central Roast Preview
Promo spoofs pop star’s 2014 vandalism charge for whipping eggs at neighbor’s house
Justin Bieber’s chiseled, tattooed chest endures the yolky sting of retribution in the first promo for the pop star’s upcoming roast special, which airs on Comedy Central on March 30th.
The 30-second spot finds Bieber mugging and flexing for the camera before he’s pelted with a torrent of eggs in slow motion while the fittingly hyper-dramatic “O Fortuna” movement of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana plays. The pop star takes the beating in stride, however, and even whips an egg back at the camera as the closing tag ”” “Come and get it” ”” appears.
The clip pays tribute to one of Bieber’s more childish outbursts from the past few years: A 2014 incident in which the then-19-year-old singer dealt with a neighbor’s complaints about his loud parities and reckless driving by egging his house. Bieber ultimately pleaded no contest to one count of misdemeanor vandalism and was sentenced to five days of community service. The singer also was forced to attend an anger management program and pay $80,900 restitution to the neighbor.
Bieber’s Comedy Central roast ”” which will be hosted by Kevin Hart ”” will likely be the self-effacing capstone of the singer’s current apology tour. At the end of January, Bieber came clean about the bad behavior that’s marred his recent career in a video posted to Facebook, which followed an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. “I didn’t want to come off arrogant or conceited, or basically how I’ve been acting the past year, year and a half,” Bieber confessed in the video. “I’m not who I was pretending to be.”
Bieber touched on his bad behavior with DeGeneres when asked about the roast. “I think it’s cool to laugh at yourself ”” I’ve done some things that might not have been the greatest,” Bieber said, adding: “I just want to be able to laugh about it, and just kind of own up to some of these things.”
Along with the egging incident, Bieber has provided comedians with a cornucopia of material to cull from, including underage drinking and drag racing, peeing in a restaurant mop bucket and even abandoning a monkey in Germany.
