The New Delhi singer-songwriter answers a crushing rapid fire and performs three of his favorite compostions on the third edition of the music series
Metal or psytrance? Arnab or Rakhi Sawant? Least favorite pop star? — these were just some of the rapid fire questions that singer-songwriter Prateek Kuhad was put through at the third edition of #RollingWith, in association with Twitter India. Bajaao is the official sound partner of #RollingWith. The New Delhi-based artist, who is not known to be particularly chatty, was a sport and answered even the most dilemmatic question thrown at him: Would you rather lose your voice or your right arm?
The young musician also performed three of his favorite compositions — the popular “Tune Kaha,” “100 Words” and the unreleased “For Your Time” — at the Twitter Blue Room which saw a few of his lucky fans in attendance. With his unhurried, minimalist style of acoustic pop complemented by lyrical gems, Kuhad won the hearts of everyone watching him, just like he does at almost every gig he plays.
In response to a question about why he keep flitting between English and Hindi in his songs, he said, “I feel all of us are so comfortable in both languages and that kind of works in songwriting as well; it’s still the same rules that make a song good.”
Kuhad also spoke about his experience at Bigsound 2016 in Brisbane, Australia, where he participated in the music conference and showcase. The musician was also the only Indian participant at Music Matters, Asia’s premier independent music festival held in Singapore. Kuhad made his Bollywood debut with “Kho Gaye Hum Kahan,” a collaboration with singer/composer Jasleen Royal for the upcoming film ‘Baar Baar Dekho’.
