Announced last week, Hindustan, a hip-hop concert featuring featuring 10 acts from 7 cities performing in 9 languages, is almost around the corner. Set to take place on November 14th at Mumbai’s Famous Studios, the concert will see India’s diverse hip-hop voices share a common stage haq se (by right).

Hindustan’s electric lineup comprises New Delhi rapper Prabh Deep, Shillong hip-hop crew Khasi Bloodz, Mumbai multilingual social rap crew Swadesi and Ahmedabad electronic producer Mayur Narvekar aka Bandish Projekt, Bengaluru-based Kannada rapper Karthik Sundar aka Gubbi, Mumbai rap crew Dopeadelicz, Chandigarh rapper MC Manmeet Kaur, Mumbai freestyle rapper MC Heam, Amravati rap crew RAPHOPpER, Mumbai’s The Dharavi Dream Project (TDDP) and graffiti artist Prathmesh Gurav aka Zake.

Gig-goers will witness the best of Indian hip-hop on one stage. Part of #HaqSeHipHop, a unique multi-platform hip-hop property, the Haq Se Hindustan concert will bring together artists from all parts of the country — the north, south, west, east and north-east — to celebrate the spectrum of Indian hip-hop talent.

Over the span of almost two decades, Indian hip-hop has grown to become both a movement and a force to be reckoned with. Since the early days of hip-hop’s rise in the country, Rolling Stone India and digital media firm Qyuki have been both supporters and stakeholders in India’s hip-hop ecosystem and with #HaqSeHipHop, we now set out to give the diverse hip-hop voices in the country a definitive mouthpiece they can claim as their own. Through the #HaqSeContest, 5 winners will also get the chance to attend Hindustan and meet the artists. More details here
