Skand – Neo-Electoro

Jaipur-based musician Skand has juxtaposed electronic elements with alternative and experimental styles of music on his recently released nine-track debut album Neo-Electoro. According to the artist, the concept record was “a process of finding a language to express the disorientation and violence of our times. An expression of a life split between [the] past, present and future.” Skand’s deep vocals paint an emotive story along with his poignant lyrics and use of synths that is heard heavily across the album, along with exciting percussion parts.

Rachel Singh – “Go Grow” feat. Rakesh Chaurasia

Mumbai-based singer-songwriter Rachel Singh’s latest single is a delicate and somber tune called “Go Grow.” The song includes a beautifully plucked acoustic guitar progression, a calming flute solo by musician Rakesh Chaurasi, accompanied by Singh’s mellifluous vocals that hit all the right notes. On the lyrical front, it’s all about setting boundaries that are necessary for personal growth. In a statement, Singh said, “It is the timeless request of being left with love and trust to explore one’s own individuality and the expanse of the journey forward that comes with it.” The singer-songwriter has also released an illustrated music video made by Lisbon-based Maria Reis Rocha to go with the track.

Jhanvi Soni, Biju Nambiar – “Stories of Raw Love”

Surat-based singer-songwriter Jhanvi Soni has teamed up with producer Biju Nambiar to create the melancholic rock offering “Stories of Raw Love.” Soni’s soaring and honeyed vocals are second to none across the song while Nambiar’s production touch includes atmospheric elements, an airy groove, strings, keys as well as a hooky fingerstyle electric guitar that carries the track quite well.
