Arman Menzies, guitarist of post-hardcore/alternative metal band Goddess Gagged, picked up nominations in all major categories at the Rolling Stone Metal Awards last year, with their debut full-length album, Resurfaces. Goddess Gagged walked away with the Best Band award [Critics’ Choice], but lately it’s been a bit quiet on the music front for the band. Only two of Menzies’s current top five are metal, but we are open to hear him out.

Bring Me The Horizon ”“ “Shadow Moses”

I just got into this album [Sempiternal], and this is my wake up song. It’s a fucking roundhouse to the face. Those riffs just want to make you jump around, and that big chorus is so catchy. “THIS IS SEMPITERNAL!” Now I’m awake.

Chrome Sparks ”“ “Marijuana”

I love listening to this in my car; play it loud, feel the bass and groove [maybe light one up]. It’s a good companion for late night drives alone.

Trifonic ”“ “NightRun” (ft. MindBuffer)

One of the best producers out there, Trifonic has been one of my favorites for a while. When I sat down to listen to the new album [Ninth Wave], this was the first song. I heard it two more times before I moved on to the next song. That haunting melody and bass just moves me from the inside.

Fred V & Grafix ”“ “Goggles”

Fred V and Grafix are definitely in my top 10 drum and bass producers. This is such a good tune you just need to play it loud.

Deftones ”“ “Goon Squad”

I play every Deftones song loud, but this has been one of my favorites lately. It’s such a massive, bouncy riff. It takes you straight to SwagCity. I wish everything would just bounce to this tune.
